2006 Top Prospects

Athletic SS, has good actions in the field, and can fly. A 6.78 runner with 4.11 speed down the line. Has good arm strength with a quick arm and good footwork. Ryan can hit and showed a quick bat.


2007 Top Prospects

Christopher Epps  OF - 2007 - Stone Mountain, GA
Clemson

Was one of the top hitters at the event and showed big arm strength in the OF. He posted a 6.96 sixty time. Very good bat speed and an advanced approach at the plate. He has a short and powerful stroke. Knows how to use his hands and goes after the ball.

Matt Simonds  3B - 2007 - Atlanta, GA
Georgia Tech

Very athletic and physical player with very good actions. He can flat out hit. Strong hands and leverage in his swing with present college power. Hits the ball deep in the zone and can drive the ball to all fields. Shows very good arm strength, and uses his feet well. Good instincts for 3b with good first step reads.

Jeff Caldwell  1B - 2007 - Altamonte Springs, FL
Indiana

Big time power with exceptional hand strength and very good bat speed. He has a very strong looking athletic body with very good muscle tone for his age. Hit an opposite field gap HR in the top prospect game. Good arm strength with good actions in the OF.

Kevin Quackenbush  RHP - 2007 - Tampa, FL

Has a long and loose arm with quick arm speed. He showed an 86fb with very good arm side run. He throws a 66cb with good spin and good break, and a 71ch which shows very good life. Kevin also has a very projectable body.

Derrick Stultz  RHP - 2007 - Tampa, FL

Showed 87fb,73cb,71ch, and 79slider. Has a loose arm and good whip. Tall athletic frame helps leverage, and shows a quick arm with good command. FB has sink with smooth mechanics. Very projectable body and really stays on top of FB well.

Quick, 7.15 sixty speed, and a very strong athletic body. Has exceptional arm strength. Good power and a quick bat. Rips the inside pitches and is strong enough to drive the ball to any part of the park. Stays back and drives the ball to all fields.

Quick arm speed. Good FB at 86 mph with good arm side run, and 70cb with above average action and spin. He has a deceptive delivery.

Very athletic and strong developed frame. He has advanced skills with strength and quickness in all aspects of the game. Has a quick bat with high level projection on bat and power. Very strong and can turn on a good fast ball with wood. In the IF he has soft hands with outstanding arm strength.

He can hit and shows good raw power. He lit it up in bp, and showed very good opposite field power in the Top Prospect game by hitting two shots off the RF wall. He has good range and shows a very good back hand glove. Athletic actions and loose arm action.

Jordan Bloomer  LHP - 2007 - Lexington, KY

Listed as a pitcher, but he showed huge power and just crushed the ball in bp. He is very athletic and strong. He has a short and very powerful swing with very good bat speed and strong hands. Jordan can drive the ball out of any part of the park. HE hit two hrs in bp.

Showed an 84fb with very good command, and a 66cb with life. He finishes well and drives through his release. He has a long arm action and good arm speed. He should continue to fill out and add velocity to his pitches.

Exceptional arm strength and very good range with enough arm strength to throw anyone out from anywhere on the field. He has quick, clean transfers with soft hands. Jake put on a show in bp with a very quick bat and hand strength. He has gap to gap line drive power. He pitched at 85fb, with a 67cb, and 70 ch.

Very strong and athletic player who will continue to develop. He showed an 81fb with tailing action, and 65ch. Joey is a LH hitter with good power and showed very good bat speed and a short and quick path to the ball.

He can hit. Ethan had one of the best bp sessions showing explosive bat speed and exceptional power, and he can swing wood. Present power that will get better. Has exceptional arm strength in the IF, and shows polished actions. On the mound he has an 84fb, 73cb with a quick arm.

Grayson Garvin  LHP - 2008 - Suwanee, GA
Vanderbilt

No one is more projectable than Garvin. His arm works very well, and has much more velocity to gain. His fastball presently sits in the low 80s, and we have seen him occasionally touch 85, but his future is very bright. He has good command of all of his pitches.

Jamel Mann  RHP - 2008 - McDonough, GA

Good pop in his bat. Is strong and will add to a good athletic frame as time goes by. Fast twitch actions and advanced hand strength. He has very strong legs with big power projection. Shows arm strength and very good actions in his release. Shows very good carry on throws.

Austin Smith  OF - 2008 - Winter Springs, FL

Good speed and arm strength with carry on his throws. Balance in swing with good opposite field punch. He has good bat speed and hand strength. He is a player to watch.

A very good young switch hitting catcher. He is very focused for his age, and has exceptional arm strength with a 2.07(71c) pop time. Austin has very good footwork with athletic actions. His hustle caught our eye along with his skills.
