2013 Top Prospects

AJ Puk  LHP - 2013 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Florida

Puk again impressed with his huge potential on the mound. Loose and easy, up to 89 with more in there. Also the top hitting prospect of the event with a smooth swing and lots of power.

James Teague  RHP - 2013 - Bartlesville, OK
Arkansas

Lean and athletic, Teague showed a very fast arm in his first PG event, sitting 87-90, up to 92 with a very good slider at 76-78 mph. Good mechanics, clean delivery, an arm to watch.

Derek Burkamper  RHP - 2013 - Muscatine, IA
Nebraska

Lean and loose, Burkamper has clean mechanics and a loose arm. He topped at 87, also showing feel for a 73 mph curveball, 76 mph slider, and 78 mph changeup.

Anthony Denkinger  SS - 2013 - Windsor Heights, IA
Air Force

A consistent top performer in PG Leagues and Showcases, Denkinger is a high level athlete who has run as low as 6.71 in the sixty yard dash. He is a versatile defender and showed a quick bat with power potential.

Cody Sedlock  RHP - 2013 - Sherrard, IL
Illinois

Sedlock has an athletic body, loose arm and present velo up to 90, all big positives for the Illinois righty. He has a feel for spinning the ball and showed three quality off speed offerings.

Jake Reinhardt  RHP - 2013 - Des Moines, IA
Iowa

A very good athlete with a quick arm, Reinhardt has big potential. He was up to 88 with more in the tank and lots of life. He showed developing feel for a low 70s curveball and a 74-76 mph changeup.

Ethan Kenkel  RHP - 2013 - Storm Lake, IA
South Dakota State

Big and strong, Kenkel is a deceptive athlete, running a sub 7.00 sixty yard dash and showing big power potential t the plate. His future is on the mound as he was up to 87 with long, loose arm action.

Benjamin Miller  LHP - 2013 - Clive, IA
Nebraska

The Nebraska commit is a steady consistent performer at PG events. He was up to 87 and has been up to 89 in the past. He has deception and also throws a low 70s curveball and 75-77 mph changeup.

Justin Wyant  RHP - 2013 - Marion, IA
Chicago State

Wyant is a strong athletic pitcher with good arm strength, sitting 86-88 up to 89. He throws his off speed pitches hard with a 78-80 mph slider his best off speed offering.

Chris Halbur  RHP - 2013 - Manning, IA
South Dakota State/Iowa Western CC

Halbur has a very big 6'5 245 pound frame and uses it to his advantage on the mound. He was up to 88 with more to come and spun a curveball at 75 and threw a 74-76 mph changeup.

Nick Belzer  RHP - 2013 - Ankeny, IA
Kansas State

Projectable with a loose arm, Belzer's arm works very well and was up to 87 with more to come. His off-speed pitches also have big potential. His 75 mph curveball has 11/5 break and changeup shows sink.

Jake Scudder  3B - 2013 - Rock Island, IL
Kansas State/Iowa Western CC

Scudder is a strong athletic backstop who showed high level skills behind the plate, popping a 1.91 with 79 mph arm strength and has a power bat at the plate with a pull approach and big power potential.

Sam Mrstik  SS - 2013 - Iowa City, IA
Dallas Baptist/Johnson County CC

Mrstik is a projectable athlete who ran a 6.94 sixty yard dash and showed loose arm strength on the infield. He projects very well with the bat and shows easy bat speed and big potential at the plate.

Alex Cain  SS - 2013 - Oregon, IL
Eastern Illinois

An interesting two-way player Cain is athletic with arm strength at SS and has a quick bat with power potential at the plate. He was also up to 86 on the mound, throwing on a downhill plane and showing a solid curveball and changeup.

Matthew Johnson  3B - 2013 - Ankeny, IA
South Dakota State

Johnson is an interesting two-way player, he is a good defensive 3B with arm strength, has a power left handed bat with home run pop and was up to 86 on the mound, also showing one of the event's best slider.

Colton Lee  RHP - 2013 - Kenosha, WI
Yavapai College

Another good athlete with arm strength. Lee topped at 87 with an easy delivery and good arm speed. He projects for more velocity and also threw a 71-72 mph curveball and an 78-81 mph changeup.
