2012 Top Prospects

Ryne Combs  LHP - 2012 - Lexington, KY
Kentucky

The Louisville commit topped at 89 with a quick, loose arm and low effort delivery. Showed very good command of 78 mph curveball and 83 mph changeup.

William DuPont  SS - 2012 - Ellisville, MO
Mississippi State

A Mississippi State commit, DuPont ran an event best 6.47 sixty-yard dash and followed that up by showing impressive feet and defensive actions and an aggressive swing with bat speed at the plate.

Robert Strader  LHP - 2012 - Louisville, KY
Louisville

The left-hander showed some of the easiest and smoothest arm action of the showcase, running his fastball up to 89. He also showed a hard curveball at 74 with downer action.

Zachary Haynes  RHP - 2012 - Nicholasville, KY
Indiana

The recent Indiana commit is a long, projectable athlete who ran his fastball up to 89. He had very good command of his fastball and used it to get ahead of hitters before throwing a 74 mph curveball and 75 mph changeup.

Michael Bollmer  1B - 2012 - Lexington, KY
Louisville

Big strong righty also committed to Louisville was up to 86 after being at 88 earlier in the summer. Fastball showed sink and arm side run and he has feel for a 74 mph slurve and 74 mph changeup.

Tyler Jackson  C - 2012 - Lexington, KY
Mississippi

A good athlete who showed well at 2B as well as behind the plate. Very good contact skills at the plate with a strong, relaxed approach and good bat speed.

Matthew Johnson  MIF - 2012 - Owensboro, KY
Murray State

Johnson has the tools to be a high Division 1 middle infield. He showed smooth, easy tools and arm strength at SS and 2B as well as an easy, line drive stroke at the plate with gap power.

Tyler Cox  RHP - 2012 - Lexington, KY

Cox is a medium build right hander with a big arm. He was up to 88, also throwing a hard curveball at 77. He got ahead of hitters and showed very good command of both pitches.

Christopher Laporte  RHP - 2012 - Lexington, KY
Morehead State

Laporte is a high-level two-way player with 6.93 speed, smooth outfield actions and a very solid hit tool to go along with an 86 mph fastball and two quality off-speed pitches.

Kevin Herren  LHP - 2012 - Lexington, KY
Bellarmine University

Herren was up to 85 on the mound with loose, long arm action and good feel for his curveball and also took an impreesive batting practice with a short, line drive stroke with quickness in his bat.

Matt Livingston  1B - 2012 - Vienna, VA
Longwood

Livingston is a very projectable athlete, coming in a 6'4, 195 with strength and room to fill. He has a short power stroke with more power to come. Played mostly 1B but tools will play at 3B as well.

Wade McNabb  C - 2012 - Evansville, IN
Vincennes University

McNabb is a big strong player whose power bat will play at either C or 1B. He has a short swing with lots of strength and the ball flies off his bat. Solid tools behind the plate with clean arm action and good hands at first base.


2013 Top Prospects

Clinton Hollon  RHP - 2013 - Lexington, KY
Kentucky

Hollon has an electric arm, sitting 91-93 and touching 94 after being up as high as 97 at East Coast Pro earlier in the week. He has everything you look for in a pitching prospect with strength, athleticism, and the ability to throw four pitches for strikes.

Zach Farmer  LHP - 2013 - Piketon, OH
Ohio State

Farmer is a top level pitching prospect. He is long, athletic, and projectable with easy arm action and very good mechanics. He topped at 91 with his fastball, easily sitting in the high 80s with great feel for a curve and changeup.

Cameron Whitehead  C - 2013 - West Chester, OH
Furman

Whitehead has high-level defensive tools, showing quick feet, good balance and footwork, arm strength and pop times that were consistently below 1.95. He also swing the bat very well with strength in his line drive swing.

Javon Shelby  2B - 2013 - Lexington, KY
Kentucky

A very good athlete who can play both MIF and OF positions. He showed free and easy arm strength from the outfield at 88 and his bat, while a bit raw now has a lot of potential with above average quickness and a good swing plane.

Evan Fraliex  3B - 2013 - Lexington, KY
Tennessee Tech

Frailex is a strong right-handed batter with power potential whose defensive tools profile very well at 3B. He has strong, sure hands and good arm action, showing arm strength on the mound, running his fastball up to 86.

Ray Brewer  RHP - 2013 - Lexington, KY
Cornell

Brewer is big, strong and his arm works well with his fastball up to 87 with a developing curveball and change. He took the most impressive BP of the showcase, crushing multiple balls including one that nearly let the stadium in left field.

Tom Stoffel  OF - 2013 - Englewood, OH
Virginia Tech

Stoffel was the best defensive outfielder of the showcase, combining great instincts with quick feet and an 88 mph outfield arm. He also has a projectable left-handed bat with good plate coverage and pop to left-center field.

Penn Murfee  SS - 2013 - Nashville, TN
Vanderbilt

Murfee is a very solid all-around player with good ability on the middle infield but more of a feel for 3B. He has foot quickness and foot speed, running a 6.96, and good bat speed that projects well. He was also up to 85 on the mound

Andrew McDonald  RHP - 2013 - Mason, OH
Virginia Tech

McDonald is another projectable arm with good present velocity working 84-86. He threw a 75 mph curveball with 11/5 break and showed feel for his changeup at 78. His fastball showed arm side run and he showed the ability to throw it for strikes to both sides of the plate.

Blake Tiberi  3B - 2013 - Taylor Mill, KY
Louisville

Tiberi is a versatile left-handed bat with the ability to play all IF and OF positions. He ran a 6.93 and has an aggressive line drive swing a the plate.l He also threw an inning, topping at 83 with good mechanics and feel.

Logan Taylor  OF - 2013 - Lexington, KY
Louisville

Taylor is a very good athlete, who ran a 6.53 sixty and showed very good tools in the outfield and 86 mph arm strength. He has a short, line drive stroke and should add mroe pop as he adds more strength to his frame.

Joe Ramstetter  RHP - 2013 - Cincinnati, OH

Ramstetter has a strong, durable pitcher's build and was up to 86 with his fastball from a H 3/4 slot. He threw a curveball at 71 that has potential and projects to gain more velo in the future.


2014 Top Prospects

John Hisel  RHP - 2014 - Nicholsville, KY
Uncommitted

Hisel is a long, athletic righty with a big upside. He topped at 87 with clean, easy arm action with more velo to come. He has good feel for a 71 mph curveball and 76 mph change that have a lot of potential.

Lincoln Henzman  RHP - 2014 - Lexington, KY
Louisville

Henzman has loose, easy arm action and ran his fastball up to 86 with more in there. He also has threw a deceptive changeup at 79 and a slider at 79. He also showed athleticism with a 6.99 sixty and 88 mph outfield velo.

Devin Hairston  SS - 2014 - Lexington, KY
Louisville

Hairston is a top-level athlete who showed advanced defensive tools on the middle infield and projects well at 2B and SS. He has a very quick bat and a short, line drive stroke. He is also an aggressive baserunner with very good speed.

Josh Garbrecht  SS - 2014 - Edmond, OK
Oklahoma Christian/Redlands CC

Garbrect showed advanced defensive tools at SS in workouts and games with quick feet and smooth arm strength. He currently has a line drive with an opposite field approach and will gain pop with physical strength.

Marshall Gei  C - 2014 - Mount Juliet, TN
Kentucky

Gei is a very interesting young player with high-level catching skills as well as a smooth swing from both sides of the plate. He has big potential at both spots and is a definite player to watch in the next few years.


2015 Top Prospects

Austin (DJ) Allinger  RHP - 2015 - West Chester, OH
Evansville

Allinger is an impressive young player. He was up to 86 on the mound with easy arm action and all is a very solid shortstop with strength in his swing and potential for power. Definitely a player to watch.
