His 25 curveballs thrown (61-63 MPH) had a big say in that production, along with his fastball that sat comfortably in the 69-72 MPH range.

Mizuno leadoff hitter Matthew Fezza (2018, St. Francis HS, GA) produced two of his club's three runs batted in with a full-count, line-drive triple to the right-center gap in the top of the fourth inning. SEB leadoff hitter Palmer Sapp (2018, North Oconee HS, GA) chipped in with a 2-for-4 output with the bat, including 2 RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Banks Griffith (2016, Gainesville HS, FL) produced the most noteworthy pitching of the day for either squad, accruing four strikeouts, six swings-and-misses and two groundouts (no airouts) over two innings of relief for SEB Black. He mixed in a heavy dose of fastballs (86% of his 50 pitches were heaters), which maxed out at 76 MPH and ranged anywhere from 72-75 MPH from the right side of the mound.

East Cobb Black didn't receive an extra-base hit or multi-hit game from any of its players, and furthermore didn't receive strong stuff from any of its pitchers in the contest, with starting pitcher Matthew Hager (2018, Cherokee HS, GA), allowing six earned runs to touch home over five complete innings. Hager pounded the zone (66.8% strike rate) with a fastball sitting in the 69-73 MPH range, but was knocked around quite often -- allowing line drives or hard-hit ground balls on 48% of SEB Black's balls hit in play against him.
