Sunrise Mountain entered the 2011 season ranked #2 in 4A Division I by the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association. They wasted no time in making a statement in knocking off Notre Dame Prep (ranked #1 in 4A Division II) on the road. In what is arguably the most exciting game in Arizona's young season it took 10 innings for the Mustangs to come away with the victory.
LHP
Tyler Crawford (Arizona commit) picked up the win with 5 scoreless innings of relief and drove in the winning run in the 10th. Starter
Aaron Bummer (Nebraska commit) racked up 8 Ks while walking just one in his 5 innings of work in addition to an RBI double.
Notre Dame righty
Taylor Scott pitched well in a no-decision. He scattered 4 hits over 7 innings while striking out 4 and walking just one.
Notre Dame falls to 2-2 with the loss. Sunrise Mountain comes home to face Apollo tomorrow at 4:00.
