Nebraska: What an afternoon the Huskers had against Arkansas at home. In the first game of a doubleheader, the Huskers captured a 3-0 win over the Razorbacks. But most notable about this game is the fact NU put together a combined no-hitter in the effort. Kyle Kubat struck out three and walked one in five innings of work, while Tyler Niederklein tossed 2 1/3 shutout frames and Dylan Vogt finished the game with 1 2/3 shutout frames … In the nightcap, the Huskers got a solid performance from starting pitcher Brandon Pierce, while at the plate, second baseman Pat Kelly had two hits and a run scored in a 4-2 win over the Razorbacks. The Huskers moved to 16-19 on the season, getting a solid RPI boost as well.
Upset of the day
Tennessee Tech over Vanderbilt: Vandy has been one of the nation's most consistent teams this season, entering Tuesday's contest against the Golden Eagles on a 14-game winning streak. However, TTU ended that streak with a thrilling 10-9 triumph, on the road, mind you. Eagles outfielder Michael Morris went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Dylan Bosheers had three hits and an RBI and third baseman Daniel Miles had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Player of the day
Max Murphy, OF, Bradley: The Braves hit the road to face Northern Illinois Tuesday night and captured a very impressive 19-0 victory. Bradley outfielder Max Murphy had a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two homers, two runs scored and five RBIs.
Feeling good
North Carolina: Tar Heels right-handed pitcher Chris Munnelly struck out six, walked two and allowed just a run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings of work, as the Tar Heels captured a hard-fought 5-1 win over red-hot Coastal Carolina. Meanwhile, Chris McCue had a big day out of the pen, too, with two scoreless frames, while at the plate, Cody Stubbs smacked his fifth home run of the season.
Bryant: The Bulldogs continue to play at an elite level, extended their nation-leading winning streak with a dominant 10-0 road win over Stony Brook. Bryant starting pitcher Joseph Michaud tossed six shutout innings, while at the plate, shortstop Dan Muscatello went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs.
Michigan: Erik Bakich's Wolverines are heating up and playing an impressive brand of baseball these days. The Wolverines continued their hot ways Tuesday night with an 8-2 win over Notre Dame. Sophomore right-handed pitcher James Bourque struck out eight, walked two and allowed just one hit in 7 2/3 innings of work, while at the plate, designated hitter Kevin White went a perfect 4-for-4.
Southern Mississippi: The Golden Eagles have been playing much better here as of late and captured another solid win Tuesday night with a 2-1 triumph over Ole Miss. USM starting pitcher A.J. Glasshof allowed just a run on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, while Jay Myrick tossed 3 1/3 shutout frames out of the bullpen.
Mercer: It's often not easy to compete with a huge target on your back, but the Bears impressed in their rankings debut, beating Georgia Southern 5-3 to improve to 30-10 overall. Mercer's Sasha Lagarde led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs, while third baseman Chesny Young went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Cal State Fullerton: Rick Vanderhook's club continues to play at a high level, capturing a very solid 8-4 road win over Pepperdine. Titans outfielder Greg Velazquez had a nice afternoon at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs, while second baseman Jake Jefferies recorded two hits.
Florida Atlantic: John McCormack's Owls are well on their way to reaching the NCAA postseason at the end of the year if the current trend continues. FAU got a two-hit, two-RBI performance from shortstop Mitch Morales in a 10-2 road win over UCF. Meanwhile, Mike Spano and Ricky Santiago each finished the night with three hits and an RBI.
Florida State: Seminoles right-handed pitcher Peter Miller struck out four, walked one and allowed just two hits in 6 2/3 shutout innings of work, as the Seminoles captured an impressive 2-0 home win over South Alabama. Meanwhile, at the plate, second baseman John Sansone went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Louisville: The Cardinals avenged an earlier loss to rival Kentucky on Tuesday night with an impressive 12-5 road triumph. UL designated hitter Jeff Gardner went 4-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs, while catcher Shane Crain had three hits and two RBIs and outfielder CoCo Johnson had two hits and three RBIs.
Gonzaga: The Bulldogs are playing well and starting pitcher Billy Moon put together a solid performance in a 4-3 win over Washington State. Moon allowed just two runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings of work, while at the plate, two-way star Marco Gonzales had a hit and two RBIs.
Florida: Kevin O'Sullivan's pesky Gators are starting to find their groove again. UF hit the road on Tuesday and captured a 5-3 win over a solid Florida Gulf Coats club. Poyner struck out four and allowed just a run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. Meanwhile, catcher Taylor Gushue went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
North Carolina State: The Wolfpack have had elite potential the entire season, but just now are putting all the pieces together. N.C. State starting pitcher Ethan Ogburn struck out five and allowed just a run on two hits in 8 1/3 innings of work in a 2-1 win over Charlotte. Meanwhile, Logan Ratledge and Tarran Senay each finished the afternoon with a pair of hits.
Arizona: The Wildcats scored eight runs the final three frames of the game to take care of business, 10-9, against arch-rival Arizona State. Augey Bill and Mathew Troupe took care of business out of the bullpen, while at the plate, Johnny Field, Brandon Dixon and Kevin Newman each finished the night with two hits.
Wanting a do-over
California: It wasn't too long ago the Golden Bears seemed to be in position to turn things around, but now they're in real trouble down the stretch sitting at 16-20 overall after dropping an 11-5 midweek bout to San Francisco. Cal starting pitcher Keaton Siomkin struggled in his start against the Dons, allowing four runs on four hits in just an inning of work.
Washington: Boy, have the Huskies struggled this season. They added yet another bad loss to their resume with a 10-4 setback to city rival Seattle. UW starting pitcher Tyler Davis allowed four runs on six hits in four innings of work, while the bullpen didn't do much better with Tyler Kane allowing five runs in just 2/3 of an inning.
Oklahoma: After struggling offensively against Baylor over the weekend, it was much the same for the Sooners in a doubleheader against Arkansas-Little Rock. OU dropped the first game of the doubleheader 5-2 after UALR starting pitcher Travis McDonald allowed just two runs in 6 2/3 innings, while they dropped the nightcap 4-3, getting stymied by Trojans starting pitcher Ethan Schlechte.
Campbell: The Camels have been pretty consistent this season, but were stymied Tuesday night by North Carolina Central starting pitcher Ruben Rios, who allowed just a run on five hits in five innings of work in a 5-1 upset win. Meanwhile, the lone bright spot of the night was leadoff hitter Ben McQuown recording two hits.

Steven Shelinsky, OF, Pittsburgh: Shelinsky put together an impressive performance in an 11-9 win over Youngstown State. He went 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored and three RBIs to lead the Panthers.
Steve Zavala, OF, Rutgers: The talented Scarlet Knights outfielder put together an impressive performance in a 14-8 road win over Lafayette. He went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Jess Posey, 2B, Georgia: Posey had an impressive offensive performance in a 10-1 home win over Presbyterian. Posey went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Ryan LaGrange, 3B, UNC Wilmington: The Seahawks continue to impress with LaGrange and others leading the charge. LaGrange went 4-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs to lead UNCW to a win over East Carolina.
Drew Griffin, 3B, Memphis: Griffin put together a solid performance at the plate as the Tigers captured a 5-0 win over Murray State. He went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Jake Hernandez, C, USC: Hernandez put together a solid performance as the Trojans captured a nice 5-2 road win over Loyola Marymount. He went 2-for-5 with a home run, a run scored and two RBIs.
Frankie Ratcliff, SS, Houston: Ratcliff had a career-high five RBIs as the Cougars captured an easy 12-2 home win over Texas Southern. Ratcliff went 2-for-2 with three runs scored as well.
Graham Saiko, OF, South Carolina: Saiko put together a solid performance in a 10-6 home win over College of Charleston. He went 4-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Michael Ratterree, OF, Rice: The athletic outfielder had a good showing in an 11-2 win over Texas Tech. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Owls' offensive charge.
Paul Hendrix, 2B, TCU: Perhaps the Horned Frogs are ready to show some signs of life down the stretch. Hendrix went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the way in an 11-4 win over Texas-Arlington.
Denton Norman, RHP, Lipscomb: The talented right-handed pitcher struck out five, walked four and allowed just five hits in seven shutout innings in a 2-0 solid home win over Western Kentucky.
Daniel Palka, OF, Georgia Tech: Palka has ridiculous raw power and put together a powerful performance in a 14-1 win over Savannah State. He went 3-for-4 with two homers, two runs scored and four RBIs to lead the offensive charge.
Josh McDorman, OF, Troy: McDorman had a very good offensive performance in a 13-1 win over Alabama A&M. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Trojans at the plate.
Mike Wieland, C, Arkansas-Pine Bluff: Wieland had a big-time night at the plate as the Lions captured a 24-5 win over Mississippi Valley State. Wieland went 2-for-5 with two doubles, five runs scored and three RBIs. He also induced two walks.
Hayden Simerly, DH, Sam Houston State: The Bearkats added yet another solid midweek win to their resume in a 9-8 triumph over Texas A&M. Simerly led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.
John Crummy, DH, Miami (OH): The Redhawks hit the road Tuesday night and captured a very solid 19-2 win over Eastern Kentucky. Crummy went 5-for-5 with a double, home run, four runs scored and six RBIs in the victory.
T.J. White, SS, UNLV: The Rebels put on an offensive display in a 24-11 win over UC Riverside with White leading the charge. He went a perfect 7-for-7 with five runs scored and six RBIs to lead the offense.
Zarley Zalewski, 3B, Kent State: The Golden Flashes put together a solid performance at home in a 19-1 win over Niagara. Zalewski led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four runs scored and three RBIs.
