Draft eligible sophomores provide the MLB Draft with interesting wildcards year in and year out. They have leverage on their side, and it’s difficult to get any sort of feel for just where they might land when draft day finally roles around. The more talented they are, the more intriguing the quandary is for big league scouting departments. The most notable draft eligible sophomore in 2013 is likely Pepperdine’s two-way standout, Aaron Brown.

There is in one major question scouts will have to find an answer to this spring, however, and that is will Brown turn professional as a position player or as a left-handed pitcher?
