The Class of 2013 has been notably lacking in hard throwing pitchers since it began to define itself a couple of years ago. In fact, up until the 2012 WWBA World Championship in late October, only one pitcher in the class, Kentucky right-hander Clinton Hollon, had topped 95 mph at a Perfect Game or other notable scouting event around the country. Hollon touched 97 at the 2011 East Coast Professional Showcase as a sophomore and 96 at a pair of WWBA tournaments that same summer.
