Head of the class: SS/RHP Sheldon Neuse

The Sooners have historically recruited well, and that didn't change during the early signing period with another talented crop of players, led of course by Lone Star State two-way star Sheldon Neuse. Neuse is a strapping, athletic, 6-foot, 185-pounder, from Fort Worth, Texas (Fossil Ridge). He plays shortstop in high school and has good actions there with a strong arm to first base. Neuse could play in the field or pitch. As a pitcher, Neuse pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a fastball topping out at 92. He also has a 75 curve, 76 slider and 78 changeup. Neuse is a terrific athlete who will help out the Sooners in a variety of ways should he attend college.
