2017 Top Prospects

Louie Vargas  1B - 2017 - San Fernando, CA
Uncommitted

Vargas tied for an event-best fastball velocity when he climbed to 86 MPH on the mound, working 83-86 MPH consistently and pounding the strike zone with his fastball. He also showed a very sharp curveball that got a good deal of swings-and-misses, and had a lot of success overall.

Stephen Knezevich  OF - 2017 - Burbank, CA
Arkansas Tech

Knezevich had a very good all-around event, running a sub-7 second 60 yard dash (6.94), throwing an event-best 90 MPH from the outfield with smooth defensive actions, and showing lots of bat speed when hitting with good pop to all fields.

Dylan Yapp  1B - 2017 - Redwood City, CA
Uncommitted

Yapp, a very physical prospect, showed tools all over the diamond. He was up to 81 MPH on the mound with a very sharp slider, showed easy footwork and overall actions defensively at 1st base, and consistently made hard contact when hitting, both in batting practice and in game situations.

Gary McCoy  SS - 2017 - Los Angeles, CA
Uncommitted

McCoy showed the ability to square the baseball up on a line consistently with good hand speed and barrel path, driving the ball at times as well, and having some of the better defensive actions of the event. He has range to both sides and good smoothness throughout, and threw 81 MPH across the diamond.

Dylan Ramirez  3B - 2017 - Murietta, CA
Uncommitted

Ramirez showed well across all facets in this event. He shows good strength and raw pop in his bat when hitting, looked good defensively at the corner infield spots in terms of both actions and arm strength (83 MPH), and got up to 81 MPH on the mound with a good, deep curveball.

Naren Hunter  OF - 2017 - Los Angeles, CA
Uncommitted

Hunter is an extremely projectable prospect at 6-4/180, and has good athleticism throughout his actions both in the outfield and in his delivery on the mound. He also threw 86 MPH from the outfield and worked up to 82 MPH on the mound with a good slider.

2018 Top Prospects

Gabriel Ulloa  RHP - 2018 - Delano, CA
Uncommitted

Ulloa did a little bit of everything in this event. He worked out at three defensive positions and showed good arm strength at all three, throwing 84 MPH from the OF, 83 MPH across the IF, and 82 MPH from 1st base; then got on the mound and worked 80-83 MPH with strikes and a four pitch mix.

2019 Top Prospects

Dawson Netz  RHP - 2019 - Sierra Madre, CA
Arizona

Netz worked 83-86 MPH on the mound from an extremely quick arm, highlighted by good running and sinking life on the pitch with a clean, deceptive delivery. He also mixed in a good curveball and fading changeup, giving him a quality three pitch mix on the mound.

Sebastian Orduno  OF - 2019 - San Pedro, CA
Uncommitted

Orduno had one of the better pitching performances of the event due to his advanced command. He worked 78-81 MPH with his fastball, throwing it to both sides of the plate with ease, and showed a very advanced curveball that he threw in any count to any hitter for a strike.
