Perfect Game Junior College Top 25: March 1

As we enter the second month of the season we are starting to get a glimpse of how teams really match up on the field as opposed to how the matchup looks on paper. The top teams remain mostly unchanged, but things are starting to get really interesting as conference play gets underway in most regions.

Northwest Florida State remains in the top spot after winning 24 of their first 30 games. San Jacinto (16-3) remains in the second spot and are in a great position to make a deep run in Grand Junction come May. Central Arizona (24-3) remains scorching hot and jumps up to third in the rankings. The new No. 4 team, LSU-Eunice, is the hottest team in the nation right now and still have not lost a game as they sit 23-0. Chipola (22-8) rounds out the Top 5, and although they dropped a couple spots, they are still a very strong team.

Out west San Joaquin Delta leads the way with a 15-1 record and they continue to show why they are a perennial power in California. They aren’t the only team in the Golden State playing very well right now as Cypress (13-3) moves up three spots and checks in at 11th while Fullerton (22nd) makes their first appearance in the Top 25 thanks to their impressive 14-2 start to the season.

The Florida panhandle is shaping up to be one of the most talent laden regions in the country and things will get very interesting very soon once they all start playing each other. Northwest Florida, Chipola, Gulf Coast and Tallahassee are all in the Top 25 now and those four teams have a combined record of 95-26 as of Sunday night.

Previously mentioned Gulf Coast (23-5) and Tallahassee (26-7) join Delgado (14-6), Fullerton (14-2) and Cisco (18-2) as the newcomers to this update of the Top 25.

With some teams just now starting conference play things will start to work their way out on the field and will be reflected in our next update two weeks from now.
