Even though the draft is just under two weeks away there is still some uncertainty remaining as teams begin to really dig in for their pre-draft organizational meetings and prepare for pre-draft workouts.

Much has been said throughout the industry about the lack of top-end talent in this year’s draft class, and those grumblings even came before the injuries and subsequent surgeries to last year's No. 1 pick Brady Aiken, and another possible 1-1 candidate in Duke pitcher Michael Matuella. However, while that argument has some merit as there is no slam dunk top choice, there is still a fair amount of talent for teams to choose from.

As always selections will come down to organizational preference as there are a number of strong candidates to choose from in each profile.

This draft class’ strong middle infield class has been talked about for months now, and while it would appear that Dansby Swanson has established himself as the top dog Brendan Rodgers and Alex Bregman could easily make a case for being the first position player selected – not to mention the Kevin Newmans, Richie Martins, Mikey Whites, Kyle Holders, etc., that could easily be popped in the first round if a team truly buys in.

Similarly, there would appear to be a number of attractive college pitchers in Dillon Tate, Tyler Jay, Carson Fulmer, Walker Buehler, and Jon Harris to name just a handful, but seemingly every one comes with his own set of question marks. In a draft filled with uncertainty and a lack of consensus they seem to fit right in.

Finally aside from evaluating all of the players’ talent levels, organizations also have to navigate the relatively new bonus pools (introduced in 2013) for their selections in the top 10 rounds. Organizational philosophy on how to allocate their assigned allotment can have nearly as much to do with their selections as the players’ abilities which makes predictions of any this nature difficult enough.

With that in mind, here's the Perfect Game Mock Draft Version 2.
