The strongly built 6-foot-3, 200-pound Heatherly throws from a very measured and controlled delivery with limited stride towards the plate. His arm works quickly from a long arm action that comes through his circle well. His fastball works in the upper-80s and was up to 92 mph at the PG National Showcase with plenty of room for added velocity. The angle he creates from his three-quarters arm slot is impressive and helps him lay off hitters’ barrels. He has shown feel for both a slider and a changeup as well, with the changeup being the more advanced offering of the two secondary pitches.
