Vicente Castro is a 2017 C/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Bayamón, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Strong athletic build. Very good defensive actions behind the plate,simple and compact lower half use and footwork, has a fluid throwing release, game actions in drills, very good raw arm strength, showed nice lateral quickness in games blocking. Right handed hitter, same sort of simple and repeatable hitting mechanics as on defense, moves into contact well and uses his lower half well, best contact is when pulling the ball, has some pop when he can clear his hips and drive the barrel, tends to reach and decelerate the barrel on outside pitches. Good student.
