Zack Gelof is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Rehoboth Beach, DE who attends Cape Henlopen HS. Big and strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, bent knee stance with a open front side, shifts into contact well and uses his lower half, pull approach with good bat speed, strength shows in his swing, can drive the ball and get it in the air. 6.75 runner, 4.27 home to first, moves well on the bases with a quick first step especially for his size. Third base actions defensively, has arm strength but will need further work on feet and accuracy. Also pitched, cross body delivery, high 3/4's slot, works from the stretch. Mid-80's fastball, mostly arm side, short breaking curveball. Bat is his carrying tool. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Virginia.
