2016 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Will Evans is a 2017 C/ with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Peachtree City, GA who attends Starrs Mill. Large frame with solid, physically present build and good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.08 seconds. Sets up to hit from narrow-based stance with open front foot to start, high hands and back elbow in set, leg lift timing mechanism into stride with solid hip torque. Could stand to incorporate lower half more into swing to unlock better strength. Short to the ball with compact hand path and solid overall bat speed, line drive swing plane, showed good ability to drive the ball on a line with developing power. Worked out defensively behind the plate. High set, receives well with soft glove hand, transfers quickly and shows advanced footwork while gaining ground forward well. Very good arm strength with excellent accuracy to bag, threw 80 MPH and popped as low as 1.81 seconds. Named to 2016 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List, outstanding student.
