Nick Volpe is a 2017 2B/SS, RHP with a 5-10 157 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends Coral Springs High School. Medium build, lean athletic frame with room to continue to fill out physically. Posted a 7.07 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary second basemen, good first step to the ball with a long release and promising arm strength up to 84 mph. At the plate, started with a wide base and a high hand set with a medium leg lift timing mechanism. Showed some hand quickness through the zone with good hip fire towards the ball with solid line drive contact. Also pitched, worked from a high three quarter arm slot with good arm speed and a compact arm circle. Worked downhill well with fastball that sat 79-82 mph with arm side life. Slowed arm for curveball with 11/5 shape that showed depth and threw it for strikes. Exceptional student.
