2015 Pitcher Catcher Indoor Showcase
Luke Shilling is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-5 250 lb. frame from Clarkston, MI who attends Notre Dame Prep. Big thick build, extremely strong. Basic step and throw delivery, simple low effort mechanics that are easy to repeat, works downhill from a high 3/4's arm slot. Easy velocity, warmed up at 92-93, topped out at 94 mph against hitters, fastball is mostly straight with occasional hard late life down low. Outstanding curveball spin, serious spin and tight biting action with power, knee buckler at times. Showed a surprisingly good change up for someone relatively new to pitching, maintains his arm speed and has feel for location. Has all the ingredients to be a top round draft pick on the mound. Right handed hitter with the same type of enormous strength with the bat, didn't face live pitching but showed big bat speed during BP and testing. Good student, signed with Illinois.
