Drake Rodriguez is a 2017 2B/SS with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Vero Beach, FL who attends Vero Beach HS. Large frame, leaner build with room to continue filling out. Worked out in the infield, moves well to the ball and shows soft hands. Sees the ball deep and surrounds it well, releases from a 3/4's arm slot and made accurate throws across the diamond with solid, quick release. Right handed hitter, straight, even stance at setup. Low-effort, simple shift and swing. Maintains direct hand path to the baseball, solid line-drive swing plane and feel for the barrel, able to drive balls back up to the middle of the field. Executes his plan well, should continue improving with additional strength. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash, showed good speed and aggression on the basepaths. Outstanding student.
