Cole Murphy is a 2015 1B/RHP with a 6-6 205 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Walnut Hills. Extra-large, athletic build with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with present strength on frame. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, moves well on feet off the bag showing range, quick release on throws with a strong arm across the diamond, fields the ball out front and shows quick feet on turns to second base. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action in the back. High leg raise delivery, stays tall on back side, uses long limbs well to get on top of the ball and create downhill plane. Fastball topped out at 85 mph and shows an 11-5 curveball with some downward shape and a developing feel. Left-handed hitter, shows nice bat speed coming through the zone and uses a leg lift trigger for timing. Loads hips well and projects well with power. Gets the barrel through the zone with nice bat speed, creates hard contact. Nice upside with the bat. Named to Southeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
