Jorge Martinez is a 2014 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 161 lb. frame from Panama City, PAN who attends Instituto America. Martinez has a medium build with room to fill out. Pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a smooth online delivery. Fastball has arm side run and mixes in a good straight change. Flashes plus curveball that has 12/6 spin with good depth. Uses curveball as out pitch. Threw all 3 pitches for strikes. Hit from a square stance, aggressive line drive swing plane with lift. Makes solid contact and showed flashed pull pop. Defensively has good footwork around the bag and has a feel for playing 1B. Good arm strength across diamond. Good Student. Named To Top Prospect list.
