Drake Rainer is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Pearland Dawson HS. Has a medium frame with a long lean build, plenty of room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 6.57 60 yard dash, moves well on the field. From the outfield, fields the ball out in front. Full arm action on throws with developing arm strength and carry. At the plate, left-handed hitter that starts with a wide base and a high back elbow. Swings on a line drive swing plane with quick hands and a strong core. Has good feel for the barrel and a simple middle of the field approach. Will see even more hard barrels as he continues to incorporate lower half. On the mound, throws from an over the top arm slot with good downhill plane on fastball. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good depth and tight rotation. Good athlete with tools that should continue to improve. Good student. Named to South Uncommitted Top Prospect List.
