Yelnie Rivera is a 2016 LHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Vega Alta, PR who attends Maestro Ladi. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist with present strength to frame and some room to still fill out with additional physicality. Primary lefthanded pitcher, uses a hip turn at top of delivery, gets tall and backside and uses full hand path for rhythm, lands online with front foot. Up-tempo delivery, works from a three-quarters arm slot, quick through the backside with some effort at release, comes out of hand well and generates downhill plane and angle when on top of the ball. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, works down in the zone and shows ability to work to either side of plate with late running life. Comfort challenging in on hitters, curveball flashed depth with 1-7 shape, occasionally around the ball with short life looking like slider. Good student.
