Mac McCurdy is a 2014 1B/LHP with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Lexington, SC who attends White Knoll. Extra large, strong frame with a loose, athletic build with long limbs. Moves well, running a 7.07 60 yard dash. Very good defensive first basement, picking balls well in game action. Quick feet with good lateral agility and maintains control of body throughout. Accurate arm across infield. Left handed pitcher who throws from a low three quarter arm slot. Fastball topped at 80 mph with a lively two seam run and stayed low in zone. Curveball shows tight spin and flashed 1/7 break. Has a feel for a change up at 68 mph. Left handed hitter who works from a narrow, slightly open base with high hand set and a middle of the field approach. Short, strong swing, keeping hands in well. Has good bat speed. Makes hard contact and shows present power with more to come in future. Very good student.
