Ryan Orr is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends La Costa Canyon HS. Medium frame, lean build with solid present strength and athleticism. Solid footspeed, ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, very sound behind the plate. Low set, receives well, quick transfer and release from compact arm-action, recorded a 1.83 pop time on throw down to second base. Right handed hitter, wide base with high hands set, keeps hands inside the ball. Flashes some developing strength in swing, shows ability to get extended, generate loud contact to pullside. Good student. Verbal commitment to San Diego State.
