Tyler Holmes is a 2017 2B/UT, MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from San Marcos, CA who attends San Marcos. Medium frame with slender, athletic build and good projectable room for growth remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.13 seconds. Switch hitter, shows quick hands and some strength off the barrel from both sides. Open start with small leg lift trigger, controls the barrel a bit better from the left side with a whole-field line drive approach. Shows a bit more power from the right side, can drive it into both gaps but swing is a bit longer than from left side. Projectable hitting tools from both sides. Shows clean, athletic actions in the OF, attacks the ball well and fields cleanly through the ball, very good arm strength up to 85 MPH. Quick feet in the IF with good agility to both sides, quick release with accuracy across up to 81 MPH. Pitched as well, stabs some in back of arm circle but comes out of it clean into acceleration. Has solid arm speed with online delivery, FB worked 75-79 with arm side life. Mixed in 12/6 CB with solid depth. Named to 2015 California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
