Brandon Gutierrez is a 2018 MIF/3B with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Eastvale, CA who attends Eleanor Roosevelt HS. Smaller frame with a compact, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Rotational lower half actions to contact with some shift. Compact, simple line drive path to contact. Shows solid barrel skills throughout the zone with good balanced. Consistently squared up contact with a mid-field approach. Has the strength and bat speed to turn barrel into contact results in hard contact to the pull side gap. Worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth fundamental footwork while surroudning the baseball. Clean glove action while working through transition. Gets rid of baseball quickly with compact glove to hand exchanges and a compact arm action. Flashed range to both sides with extended range to glove hand side. Soft hands while on the move as well. Good student.
