Andrew Crane is a 2017 OF/RHP, IF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends San Marcos. Crane has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. Defensively he showed loose easy actions in the outfield with a confident approach to the baseball. Crane has athletic actions and showed a quick release. He has good arm strength with velocity up to 87 MPH with carry on it. At the plate, Crane starts with an upright open stance with a slight arm bar. He swings on a line drive plane and maintains balance through his swing. Crane gets some jump on the ball when he squares it up and he showed a sound approach. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action. The ball comes out of his hand clean and he gets some sink on the ball. He throws an 11/5 curveball with some shape to it. Excellent student.
