Gilberto Rodriguez is a 2014 C/1B with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Juncos, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy/HS. Shorter compact build, good present strength, mature look. 7.25 runner, good flexible quick actions behind the plate, low set with quick feet, good arm strength accurate throws, could lengthen stride a bit, 1.89 best pop time, solid overall catch and throw tools. Switch hitter, same approach from both sides, limited shift and flow into contact, upper half rotational swing, long high finish, has good strength with a bit more bat speed from the right side, aggressive hitter. Good student, signed with Miami Dade College.
