Garret Rukes is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Coconut Creek, FL who attends Pine Crest HS. Long and lean build, narrow features with long limbs, some physical projection. Deliberate hands over head delivery, slightly across body at release, late drive to the plate, 3/4's to mid 3/4's release slot, long and loose arm action. Mid-80's fastball, mostly straight. Solid change up with good arm speed and some fade and diving action. Sweeping curveball with a 2/8 break and good depth. Has the ability to mix pitches and locate the ball, waiting for additional strength and velocity to kick in. Good student, verbal commitment to Alabama.
