Jose Hidalgo is a 2016 LHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Weston, FL who attends Somerset Academy Charter HS. Strong athletic build. Sound low effort pitching mechanics; repeats well, high 3/4's arm slot, works downhill with all his pitches. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, gets good life down in the zone, can elevate fastball with intent above barrels. Has feel for his off speed pitches, sequences them well and hits spots, knows how to pitch. Improving the power and quality of his curveball will be key to his development. Excellent student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
