Jonathan Ortega is a 2015 SS with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Victoria, TX who attends Victoria East HS. Smaller athletic build, strong lower half. 6.97 runner, very light and quick on his feet defensively, works through the ball well, very good charging the ball with a quick release, soft hands, plenty of arm strength, shows his athleticism defensively. Right handed hitter, limited shift into contact, rotational swing, short hand path to the ball, has some strength and hand quickness, mid field line drive contact, has the strength to improve with adjustments. Good baserunner who uses his speed well. Good student.
