Garrett McCain is a 2014 OF/LHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Lavon, TX who attends Wylie HS. Medium athletic build, has some compact strength. Two-way prospect. Right handed hitter, very deep load, back side collapse, raises up and hits up through the ball, long loose swing with bat speed, good flow through contact, showed his mid field power, loud contact, projects well with some adjustments, nice hitting tools. 6.72 runner, young outfield fundamentals and mechanics, has the athleticism to improve with coaching. Fast paced high energy delivery, mid to low 3/4's arm slot, short quick arm action. Fastball to 90 mph with good tailing action, nice change up with hard diving action and good arm speed, shows hard spin on a sweeping slurve type curveball. Three quality present pitches with some deception. Will be interesting which side of the ball he develops best on. Good student.
