Brett Lilek is a 2012 LHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from South Holland, IL who attends Marian Catholic HS. Profile pitcher's build, tall and loose, plenty of room to add strength. Leg raise delivery, throws from 3B side of rubber and loses angle, long and loose arm action, extended 3/4's release point. 88-91 mph fastball, mostly straight, throws fastball to spots and tries to work the outside corner, tends to wrap breaking balls in the back, varies breaking ball velocity and shape, needs to get better downward tilt to both pitches. Developing feel for change. Has a crafty lefty approach with potential power pitches, projects more velocity. Has nice hitting tools, big swing with good extension, can drive the ball to all fields, has some strength with the bat. Verbal commitment to Arizona State.
