Chris Bates is a 2010 LHP/1B with a 6'5'', 192 lb. frame from Ossining, NY who attends Regis HS. Long loose projectable build. Full extended arm action, shows ball in back, extended 3/4's release point, loose out front, arm works well. Mid 80's fastball, touched 88 mph, CB has sharp and short SL type break, threw strikes to locations with both pitches, has an idea. Stuff short for pro ball now but wouldn't be surprised if he's a prospect in 3 years. Signed with Richmond.
