2007 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Sam Dove is a 2009 MIF with a 6'0'', 140 lb. frame from Nolensville, TN who attends Brentwood Academy. He is slender now but has some width to his shoulders and hips for future strength. Dove ran very well, 6.93 in the 60, and projects to get faster as he gets stronger. Dove has a very good idea with the bat and projects well. He has deceptively strong hands for his build and knows how to handle the bat head. He's smooth through the zone and has some lift and extension through the ball. He made solid game contact and showed he could make adjustments to off speed pitches. He's a promising young hitter. Defensively, Dove had fair actions and developing arm strength. He shows his athleticism but has a ways to go before you can say he'll stay in the middle infield at the next level. Dove is a excellent student. He was named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
