Blake Rutherford is a 2016 OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Chaminade College Prep. Tall lanky athletic young build, lots of room to fill, high waist and well proportioned. Complicated timing mechanism and swing mechanics prevent him squaring the ball up as frequently as a hitter with his level of bat speed is capable of, but all of the tools are the to project big things from the only 2016 grad in attendance at this event which showcases the elite 2015 prospects from around the country. Potential power, flashes pop already and projects for significant strength gains over the next few years. Has an extra gear when running, still gaining full coordination of his frame, should develop into an above average runner or better once he does, giving him a chance to stick in center field, projectable arm action.
