Michael Mediavilla is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-4 230 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Mater Academy Charter. Big strong physical build, looks like he's firmed up his body this off season. High hand delivery, smooth clean arm action, high 3/4's slot, tends to keep lower half closed too long and not get fully open on release. Fastball topped at 88 mph, have seen up to 91 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle. Nice change up with good fade and proper arm speed. Tended to slow arm on curveball, needs to let it go for a power spin and break. Right handed hitter, short swing for his size, line drive approach, consistent mid-field contact, handles the barrel well, has the strength for power should he want it.
