Benito Santiago is a 2014 C/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends Coral Springs Christian Academy. Medium athletic build, good present strength. Quick twitch athlete, 6.79 in the 60, stays very compact and quick in all his actions. Very high level catching and throwing skills, very strong arm with plus accuracy, regular sub 2.0 game throws, very agile blocking balls behind the plate, very compact actions with no wasted movement. Spread stance with a limited shift, loose fluid swing with extension and rapidly expanding raw power, quick hands that go directly to the ball, squares the ball up consistently, pull to mid field power, some uppercut in plane, hit some bombs in batting practice, sees the ball and will take pitches and work counts. Son of the former MLB catcher. Good student. Selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
