Ryan Cole McKay is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Spring Branch, TX who attends Smithson Valley HS. Big strong physical build, hips and lower half have filled out nicely. Side step/leg raise delivery, accelerates to the plate well, clean fast well timed arm action from a clean arm circle, 3/4's arm slot, repeats his delivery well. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 94 mph, lots of running and sinking action, commanded fastball well and threw to spots. Upper 70's curveball was a plus pitch at times, hard spin and deep 11/5 shape. Solid change up, would occasionally drop slot on change up and tip, big fading action.. Pounded the zone with all three pitches, very high quality pitches on a prototypical durable starter's build. Very good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
