Jacob Gatewood is a 2014 SS/RHP with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Clovis. Gatewood has a large frame with a long lean projectable pro build. He has very good arm strength with good carry on his throws. He has good defensive actions both on the infield and in the outfield that work very easy and smooth. He's got good hands with good transfers and release. At the plate, Gatewood has an aggressive balanced swing. He uses a hand hitch load with loose quick hands in his swing. Gatewood generates easy bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat. He's got thunder in his bat and has good leverage at contact. Highest level tools and really projects. Very good student.
