David Flores is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Plantation, FL who attends Western HS. Long and lean athletic build, high waist, projects well physically. Right handed hitter, has a loose and extended swing, good barrel and hand path to the ball, swings hard, looking to pull the ball, ball jumps well when squared up, best contact to the middle of the field, not especially strong yet but projects as a hitter when the strength kicks in. 7.04 runner, young outfield actions but takes good routes to the ball, has some arm strength from a high 3/4's arm slot. Also pitched, close to over the top arm slot, early front side, gets some downhill plane, limited lower half use. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight, threw fastball for strikes to both sides of the plate. Soft curveball with some downer depth. Nice overall athlete with lots of projection. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
