Andrew DeRubertis is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Pearl River, NY who attends Bergen Catholic. Large frame with solid, athletic build and good strength throughout body; still projects well moving forward on body. Posted a 7.39 seconds 60 yard dash time. Pitches with high-paced, uptempo delivery while maintaining balance throughout. Longer, loose arm action up to high 3/4 slot, generates good downhill plane to the plate from size and slot. Fastball worked 82-85 with solid life to arm side, did good job commanding FB to both sides of the plate and attacking hitters with the pitch. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape, good spin with solid depth, did good job throwing strikes with the pitch; also has solid feel for the changeup, good arm speed on pitch with deception out of hand and solid fading action. Mixed and matched all 3 pitches and threw strikes with all 3 as well. Named to 2015 Northeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
