Chris Oneal is a 2019 MIF/RHP with a 5-10 167 lb. frame from Cynthiana, KY who attends Harrison County. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.60 sixty yard dash. Primary middle infielder, surrounds baseball with fundamental footwork from a slightly deeper position. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front and to back hand. Flashed solid lateral agility when ranging to each side. Releases from a low three-quarters arm slot topping at 76 mph. Throws produce some carry across the infield with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a balanced stance a leg lift trigger. Lower half fires to baseball with linear actions generating some shift at contact. Creates some uphill shoulder tilt while launching to contact. Shows quick hands and barrel path to contact with a naturally lifted plane. Produced consistent line drives to the middle of the field with occasional carry to the gaps. Also pitched showing a big rock step to waist high leg kick. Utilizes lower half well while developing good on line direction towards the plate with the ability to clear hips while rotating. Compact arm circle back at separation and releases with a loose arm action from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Commands fastball well to both sides of the plate topping at 77 mph. Slider has 9/4 shape with sweeping action and early break. Flashed a curveball that showed some depth and early break with 10/4 shape. Challenged hitters in the strike zone with all pitches throughout each inning of work. Very good student as well.
