Landry Watson is a 2019 1B/RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Coronado HS. Lanky frame with plenty of room to fill out and add strength to the build. Primary first baseman with clean and simple actions to go along with requisite arm strength from the position. Full arm action through the back, moves well into throws, and solid turns. Graded out best on the mound from an online and loose arm action and high three-quarter arm slot. Low effort delivery with good follow through and a quick tempo. Fastball had short life to it and the curveball is a quality pitch. Breaking ball had 12/6 shape with good depth and sharp late break; pitch projects very well. Spread open stance at the plate with a pull side approach. Easy trigger into the swing from a loose path to the ball. Flashed bat speed when on time and created occasional jump. Excellent student.
