Anthony Diaz is a 2016 3B/RHP with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Holyoke, MA who attends Holyoke HS. Medium-large frame with strong, physical present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.19 seconds. Hits from balanced stance with slight crouch when set, crouches deeper into load, leg lift trigger into swing with line drive swing plane. Stays balanced through swing. Could stand to better incorporate lower half into swing so as to unlock additional strength off the barrel. Shows good willingness to use entire field and has a patient approach in game action. Moves well laterally when on defense, gets to the ball well and fields through it with momentum. Short, quick arm action with quick release, consistent accuracy across the diamond with velocity up to 80 MPH. Pitched as well, showed shorter arm action up to mid three quarters slot, clean mechanics to balance point, drives downhill to closed landing leading to slight crossfire. FB worked 72-74, showed CB with 11/5 shape and solid depth. Good student.
