Nick Carroll is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Trinity High School. Medium-Large, athletic frame with good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.11 seconds. Primary pitcher, showed very well on the mound. Coils front hip at balance point and adds deception as a result, uncoils well and gets online with hips while driving downhill with authority. Clean arm action despite hook through back of arm circle, throws from three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 81-84 MPH with good running life to the arm side. Velocity projects well and plays up due to extension and deception. Showed curveball with good spin and depth; developing sharpness at present, also showed changeup with excellent arm speed replication and fading action. Changeup was a weapon pitch in this outing. Sets up to hit from upright, squared stance; drops hands into load and bars slightly, gets on line drive plane and continues on it with swing through zone. Worked out in the infield, moves well to the ball with quality fundamentals, fields cleanly out front and throws accurately across the diamond up to 77 MPH. Named to 2016 Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
