Sean Helfrich is a 2019 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Coventry, RI who attends LaSalle Academy High School. Medium build and frame, athletic, and room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Posted a 7.35 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well through the ball, longer release, fields ball well, and showed developing arm strength. At the plate, used an athletic stance and a leg lift timing mechanism. Barrel got through the zone, longer path through the zone, and an approach that worked up the middle and pull side. Will continue to develop at the plate with additional strength and rhythm. Also pitched, started in the middle of the rubber, deep hip turn, up tempo delivery, long, loose arm action, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Landed on a stiff front leg with a fall off towards third base. Was effective around the zone with 74-76 mph fastball that showed arm side life when working on top of it. Also showed curveball at 62 mph that showed sharpness and tight spin with 11/5 shape. Good student.
