Jay Garibay is a 2016 2B/SS with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock-Cooper HS. Medium athletic build, room to get stronger. 7.13 runner, short steps in the field, has good actions to the ball and soft hands fielding, exchange and release are a bit long occasionally but has good arm strength and makes accurate throws, solid tools for second base. Right handed hitter, spread stance, has some lower body shift but primarily an upper half rotational swing, has some strength and can drive the ball to the gaps, has a plan at the plate and recognizes pitches, line drive swing and the barrel is on plane for a long time. Solid all around tools that should keep improving as he gets stronger. Good student.
