Anthony Montoya is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Flour Bluff. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well on feet, shows a clean, easy arm action with strength and carry on throws. Sound mechanics with athletic actions, quick release from a full arm action. Also pitched, works from a three-quarter arm slow with a longer but quick arm action in back. Balanced delivery with a high leg raise, creates angle from first base side. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, projects for more, worked low in the zone to his arm side with arm side run. Curveball showed 1-7 shape with some depth at 66 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and uses a small leg lift trigger. Longer bat path to the ball but gets barrel through well, shows bat speed and ability to hit to all fields with pop when squared. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List.
